About Brick Crusher Blitz

Brick Crusher was designed by Nolan Bushnell and Steve Bristow at Atari in 1976, with an early prototype built by a young Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs. It grew out of Atari's earlier hit Paddle Duel and inspired an entire genre of brick-breaking games, including classics like Arkanoid.

Brick Crusher Blitz stays true to the original formula — bounce a ball off a paddle to destroy rows of colored bricks at the top of the screen — while adding modern touches like power-ups, combos, and escalating level design. Clearing every brick takes aim, timing, and a willingness to chase the ball into risky positions.

How to Play

Controls: Move the paddle left and right with the mouse, arrow keys, or A/D. Launch the ball with a click or SPACE.

Objective: Break every brick on the screen without letting the ball fall past your paddle. Clear the level to move on and keep your score climbing.

Tips & Strategy

• The angle of the ball changes based on where it hits the paddle — use the edges to aim toward bricks the ball keeps missing.
• Try to dig a tunnel up one side so the ball bounces along the top row and clears bricks quickly.
• Grab power-ups only when it is safe — chasing them into a bad position can cost you the ball.
• Stay centered between bounces so you have time to react to awkward angles.
• Slow down. Panicked paddle movement is the single biggest cause of lost balls.
